JUDV Privacy Policy

JUDV ("we", "us", "the Platform") is a car rental marketplace that connects customers with independent rental providers in Los Angeles, California. We value your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use and protect your information when you use our website (judv.net) and our mobile applications JUDV (customers), JUDV Vendor (rental providers) and JUDV Driver (drivers assigned to a rental), collectively the "Services".

1. Information We Collect

  • Account data: name, phone number, email address and password.
  • Profile data: photo (optional).
  • Driver license (customers): photos of the front and back of your driver license. You upload them once in the app (Menu → Driver License) and they are required to book a vehicle.
  • Booking data: the vehicles you book, dates and times, rental type (hourly or daily), optional insurance, notes, amounts and your booking history. Pickup and return take place at the rental provider's location.
  • Payment data: payments are processed by Stripe. We do not receive or store full card details; we keep the amount, the payment status and a payment reference.
  • Rental provider data (JUDV Vendor): business name and address, vehicle information and photos, and the bank details providers enter to receive their payouts.
  • Location: precise device location (GPS) to show vehicles and rental providers near you, to set a provider's location and, for drivers, during an active rental.
  • Messages: chats between customers, rental providers and our support team.
  • Device data: model, operating system, identifiers and push notification token (FCM).
  • Usage and diagnostics: in-app interactions, crash and performance data, used to improve the service.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • Create and manage your account and authenticate you.
  • Process bookings and payments, and pay rental providers.
  • Verify the identity and driving eligibility of customers who rent vehicles, and give the rental provider of each booking the license presented for it.
  • Show available vehicles, prices and rental providers based on your location.
  • Send notifications about the status of your bookings.
  • Provide customer support and keep the Services safe, including preventing fraud.
  • Improve the Services.

3. App Permissions

  • Location: to show vehicles and rental providers near you and to set a provider's location. Drivers share their location during an active rental.
  • Camera / Photos: for your profile photo, the vehicle photos rental providers publish and the photos of your driver license (only when you choose to take or select them).
  • Notifications: to inform you about the status of your bookings.

4. Sharing Information with Third Parties

We share data only when necessary to operate the Services: the rental provider of your booking (your contact details, the booking and the driver license you presented for it); the driver assigned to your rental, when there is one; Stripe, to process payments; technology providers (Amazon Web Services for hosting, Google Firebase for notifications and diagnostics, and Google Maps for maps and geolocation); and authorities when required by law. We do not sell your personal information.

5. Security

We apply reasonable technical and organizational measures (encryption in transit via HTTPS, access controls) to protect your information. Card details are handled by Stripe, a PCI DSS certified payment processor. Driver license photos are stored in a private area of our servers that is not publicly accessible. They are only shown, through links that expire after a short time, to the rental provider of your booking and to our administrators.

6. Data Retention

We retain your information while your account is active or as necessary to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes and enforce our agreements. Your driver license photos are kept while your account is active and you can replace them at any time from the app. A copy is kept with each booking as a record of the license presented for that rental, for as long as needed to resolve disputes or comply with legal obligations.

7. Your Rights and Account Deletion

You can access and correct your data from the app and delete your account at any time (Menu → Edit Profile → Delete Account), or by contacting us. When you delete your account, we erase or anonymize your personal data, including the driver license photos in your profile, except for the booking records we must keep by law or to resolve disputes.

8. Children

The Services are intended for adults. Renting a vehicle requires a valid driver license and meeting the rental provider's minimum age. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy. We will publish the current version on this page with its update date.
